When Blaine finally convinced Kurt, after a full year of needling and begging and ‘I promise I’ll take care of it and take it out on runs and teach it not to bark’, to agree to getting a dog, Kurt expected something small and easy to handle. What he hadn’t expected was for Blaine to come home from the shelter holding a squirming, fluffy German Shepard puppy in one arm, several bags of shopping in the other.

“What is that?” Kurt said, backing away from the puppy when Blaine set it down and it starting sniffing excitedly around the kitchen.
